George P. Johnson (GPJ) has opened a new agency office in Norway, initially to support its work with energy giant Statoil.

The Kingston-based brand experience and event management company has created a team in Oslo, headed up by country lead Christian Stenseng to work alongside Statoil’s communications division for the delivery of experiences and events, in addition to provision of creative support.

George P. Johnson MD Jason Megson said: “Having a presence in Norway has always been part of our growth strategy in order to deliver local market activity for Statoil, which is why launching an agency in the heart of Oslo is something the entire GPJ network is so excited about.”

Two locally-recruited staff members will work from the Oslo base, supported by around 15 contractors and the company's UK office, while Megson added that GPJ was speaking to new clients about expansion into 2017.

Stenseng added: “Experience marketing continues to grow its share of marketing spend in both Norway and the wider Nordics region. There’s never been a better time for GPJ to be here and I am delighted to have the opportunity to build a business with the support of the UK office.”
