A number of destination management companies (DMCs) from around the world have joined forces to agree a crisis management strategy.


Members of the Global DMC Partners collective met in the US to decide on a network-wide initiative that would lead to a template for crisis management, in the event of a natural or humanitarian disaster or terrorism.


The network includes DMCs spread from Ireland to New Zealand, Japan, Brazil and South Africa.


Catherine Chaulet, president of Global DMC Partners, said: “Our top goal is to ensure our clients receive a seamless experience with Global DMC Partners no matter what destination they are going to. Our DMC Partners play a critical role in guaranteeing this goal is met, so their ideas and feedback are also vital in developing a standardized contract, proposal and crisis management template.”


Chaulet added that the template specifies emergency contacts, communication flow, and meeting points.


“No other DMC alliance out there has standardisation across the board, like we do, so we are extremely excited about our new offering,” she said.
