Event agency Grass Roots’ delegate management services (DMS) wing has taken on five new employees “following a number of substantial new business wins” and moved the whole department into new premises.
Giselle Ripken, Grass Roots' managing director, said: "This year has seen a significant increase in acquiring new clients, specifically in the IT, government and financial sector. These wins will result in additional client billing in excess of £2m over the next three years. Amongst our new clients, we are very excited to be working with Experience Worldwide, a leading sponsorship and brand experience agency based in the UK. In addition, we have retained the Big Bang Fair for another three years - since we started on this event in 2010, we have seen it grow from 6,000 attendees to an anticipated audience this year of 75,000.”
Caryl Tiller, business development director, said: “These wins are as a result of investment in our people and our proprietary delegate management technology giving us the ability to offer flexible, innovative and quick-to-deploy solutions that deliver cost efficiencies.”
The new arrivals are Mel Burns, business development associate, who joins from meetings technology provider IML Technology; Nicola Cunningham, who begins as hotel operations manager and was most recently at agency Banks Sadler, and Polina Perry, Helen Shapter – both formerly at Zibrant – and Alejandro Mongelos – from Visa Olympics – who all start in project management roles. In addition, Grass Roots will soon fill several developer roles.
The expansion of the team has led Grass Roots to move the DMS team into larger premises in Fleet, Hampshire, where it has operated since 1996.
