The HBAA got back to basics with more than 300 member representatives at its Annual Forum at the newly refurbished Jurys Inn Hinckley Island in Leicestershire.

The forum, which took place on 7-8 July, provided two days of interactive and educational content, sharing industry trends and best practices for venues, serviced apartment providers and agency members, all based around the association’s 2016 theme of “back to basics”.

Juliet Price, HBAA executive director, said: “Jurys Inn Hinckley Island was the perfect venue for our conference. Every year the HBAA strives to deliver the best possible event for our members and the hotel’s commitment to service and excellent meeting facilities ensured that our 2016 forum was a great success.”

Highlights included Chris Elmett from Crystal Interactive speaking about the evolution of meeting technology and Carolyn Pearson, CEO of Maiden Voyage, leading a discussion on safety in conjunction with the Metropolitan Police.

The forum also featured a panel discussion titled ‘Whose bed are you sleeping in?’ where experts examined the importance of hotel ownership in bedroom and brand choice.
