Harbour & Jones has acquired PCC Ltd, which operates Fare of London, in a deal that increase its turnover beyond £50 million.

The food and events company says the acquisition, the value of which is undisclosed, is part of its growth plans while staying independent. It posted pre-tax profits of £1.4m for the year-ended 31 December 2014, up by £150k on 2013's figures.

Harbour & Jones' Nathan Jones said: "Our vision is to create a portfolio of businesses offering a bespoke, personal service to our clients. We believe we’ve brought the right flavours together to make this acquisition work for our clients, our customers and our colleagues."

Along with Fare of London, PCC Ltd also runs Principals Catering, a prominent education caterer that services about 2 million school meals each year. It made a pre-tax profit of £276k in the year ending 31 August 2014.

The two companies have existed for 25 years.

PCC Ltd's John Durden, who is staying on for the next two years to oversee the transition, said: "This is a great fit for us. I’m confident that in Patrick and Nathan I will be handing over the reins to people I trust.”
