Havas People events arm reveals strong growth following restructure

New live communications arm records 51 per cent growth in 2015

Havas People director Fiona Morris

Havas People has seen a 51 per cent increase of events business this year, following the remodelling of its events team.

The company's new Live Communications department, formerly the events team, has recorded the growth after increasing work among existing clients.

Pre-tax profits for 2014 increased to £1.5 million, up from £960k in 2013, while turnover passed £34.6m. The 2015 finances for the company, headquartered in London, will be released mid-2016.

"We're delighted with our year-to-date growth of 51 per cent in this business area," said director Fiona Morris.

"We've achieved this without any increase in our head count. Rather, we prefer to give our clients the right team of experts to deliver their objectives. So we've been building our pool of associates to allow us to create the perfect team every time, whether that is for sponsored exhibition sales, delegate management, logistics, venue management or live production."

The rebranding of the events team to Live Communications was to reflect the full range of services offered by the team, Morris added.

"Our Live Communications team support every area of Havas People’s business, from on-campus attraction campaigns, to experiential recruitment events, live learning, conferences, exhibitions and incentive travel.  So the term 'events' wasn’t doing justice to our offering," she said.

High profile clients include Ford and Tesco, while the Live Communications department has delivered award-winning events such as the Donny campaign for Direct Line Group, which helped attract staff to their Doncaster call centre.
