Online venue finder Hire Space is on track to raise funding of £500,000 in less than a month.

The news comes just days before the London-based firm is set to officially unveil its first exclusive venue, Salters’ Hall in the City of London.

Hire Space has attracted more than 100 investors since launching its crowdfunding campaign on 16 May. It set a funding target of £500,000 in return for 5.1 per cent of equity in the company, and raised more than £300,000 in the first two weeks on Crowdcube.

Will Swannell, Hire Space co-founder, said: “For us, the main aim of this crowdfunding campaign is to create a community of professionals within the events industry, who would like a stake in not just Hire Space, but the future of the industry as a whole. The campaign will not only help us to improve our offering, but also to connect more closely with those who invest, our users and event professionals alike.”

The deadline for Hire Space’s crowdfunding campaign is 11 June, while Salters’ Hall will be officially unveiled as the firm’s first exclusive venue at a party on 22 June. Guests are expected from the investment community, events industry and politicians and other Westminster representatives.

Having closed for a major refurbishment in December 2013, Salter’s Hall recently reopened as part of a wider redevelopment of London Wall Place, making the hall open to the public for the first time in its 600-year history.

The gardens at Salters’ Hall will be the largest new open landscaped area created in the City of London since the First World War. This new public realm – totalling over an acre – features remains from the Roman City Wall, a medieval church, gardens and elevated walkways.

Hire Space exclusive venue expert Mia Robertson said: “We're delighted to be working with Salters' Hall. It's a fantastic space for the City of London and there's been huge demand from companies looking to be one of the first to experience one of London’s newest event venues.”

Salters’ Hall is one of nine exclusive venue partnerships Hire Space will introduce this year, including London’s Watermen’s Hall, and The Attendant in Fitzrovia and Shoreditch.

Hire Space - founded in 2012 and backed by a group of investors including Karen Hanton MBE, founder of restaurant booking specialist Toptable.com – will formally unveil its partnership at the invite-only party at Salters’ Hall on 22 June.
