Venue finding website Hire Space has achieved its £500k crowd funding target and plans to boost its technology offer.

The online platform gave away 5.1 per cent in equity in the company in return for £500k which came from more than 200 venues, event professionals and private investors via crowd funding facility Crowdcube in just six weeks.

Co-founder Edward Poland said: “We’re delighted to have hit our target with time to spare. The response from events professionals has been phenomenal and shows the faith that the UK events community has in Hire Space. We’ll use the funds raised to build a business we believe will revolutionise the events industry in the UK and beyond, and to continue to showcase the memorable venues so loved by businesses and the public.”

Founded in 2012, Hire Space now boasts clients such as Google, Red Bull and Accenture and lists 4,000 venues – with around 50 added per month.
