Online venue finding agency Hire Space has invited its users to become shareholders in its latest round of fundraising.

The start-up has previously secured £1 million of funds from ‘angel’ investors, and is now crowdfunding in a bid to expand its presence to a global market, with pilot projects in cities such as Paris, New York and Hong Kong.

Edward Poland, COO and co-founder said: “Crowdfunding as a next step in our journey seemed like a no-brainer for us, the collaborative nature lends itself perfectly to our mission and will allow us to connect more closely with our users and the events industry as a whole.”

Launched three years ago, the London-based company currently has more than 4,000 listings for corporate events, meetings or parties.
