IWSC Group adds Wine Riot to portfolio

Partnership sees London-based events company help expand wine events company

The London-based IWSC Group has partnered with Wine Riot, a US company aiming to change the "often intimidating nature of wine and wine tasting".


The partnership will see IWSC Group help take Wine Riot to the "next level", by expanding the tasting and educational events it organises. The US company will remain under the leadership of its founders Tyler Balliet and Morgan First.


It comes after a number of partnerships for IWSC Group, famed for the International Wine and Spirits Competition, including The Art Conference, Cochon555 Tour and The Whiskey Lounge.


Allen Gibbons, group CEO at IWSC Group, said: "I am thrilled to welcome Wine Riot and its founders Tyler and Morgan on board. Their approach to wine education through engagement fully resonates with our own ethos and I think the growth opportunity for Wine Riot is enormous."


The Wine Riot, now in its seventh year, hosts two wine annual tastings in Boston, Chicago and New York.


Balliet said: "We wanted to create an event with a fun, friendly and inviting atmosphere, that entices people to come and learn about wine.


"When buying wine consumers can be overwhelmed. We are changing this traditional perception, focusing on authenticity and the story behind the label, making messages about wine and wine making more accessible and encouraging brand engagement. We believe that IWSC Group’s wealth of experience in this area will help us to develop our vision and take Wine Riot to the next level."
