Incentive bookings up 20 per cent at Sandals

Caribbean resort company says reward schemes now viewed as 'important as ever'

Sandals has seen a 21 per cent growth on incentive bookings since 2015, saying companies view incentives and rewards as "important as ever".


The luxury resort company, which operates 18 properties in the Caribbean, says the eastern Caribbean is now "extremely popular" for incentive groups, with the UK representing 87 per cent of its European business.


Sandals groups & MICE manager Graeme Saunders said: "Incentive travel is seen as a very important reward and recognition tool for corporate clients to drive client sales or reward staff. In the current climate this is as important as ever, in order to drive increased sales for companies or thank customers for their support.


"In terms of destination, we are finding that the eastern Caribbean is extremely popular. In the current market, clients are increasingly looking for value for money, which is why the range of packages and special offers that we are able to put together are so popular."


Paul Tidy, Sandals groups manager, said the upswing for incentive business was also due to the company's strategic marketing. He added: "The Caribbean is an aspirational destination and is still relatively new in the incentive arena, so clients are often choose our resorts in order to try something different from the norm. 


"We have found that our repeat client base is huge, as once a client comes to resort, they are totally sold on the product offering and rebook soon after they get back to the UK."
