Industry debate to address commission transparency

EventHuddle panel will explore processes and how independent hotels measure up against larger chains

The contentious issue of venue booking commission will be the next topic at EventHuddle.

A panel of event professionals will discuss the process at a morning session from 8.30-10.30am at One Wimpole Street on 11 August.

The panel, which is yet to be announced, will debate questions such as how do independent venues fare against larger hotel chains, whether there is enough transparency and whether the current commission model is adequate.

It follows last month's topic of women in the events industry, where panellists Melissa Noakes (experiential consultant), Carol Stewart (abounding solutions), Rachael Bartlett (Warwick Conferences) and Joy Thomas (Lloyds Banking Group) spoke about what was holding women back from senior positions.
