Industry leaders urge cooperation to achieve ROI

Panel discusses the best practices for ROI at Unique Venues of London's inaugural forum Unique Insight London

The panel discussed Return on Investment (ROI) at Unique Insight London

Return on Investment (ROI) was a key theme at the inaugural Unique Insight London, with a panel arguing event planners and venues need to work more closely to yield the best results.

The panel, including representatives from Zibrant (Hannah Wilkinson, director of sales and marketing) and RIBA Venues (Stephanie Ellrot, head of venues), said agencies and corporates needed to share their event objectives with venues and suppliers to ensure ROI is achieved.

They also said venues needed to make more of their compliance credentials in the procurement process.

Unique Insight London, organised by Unique Venues of London, took place at Museum of London on Thursday evening.

Along with the debate, attendees were treated to innovative catering from Bubble Food, which included 'interactive' canapés that used taste, sight and sound. Attendees also took advantage of the networking opportunities, and heard from Javier Bajer and Jamil Qureshi on how to look at business practices and behaviour.

Moya Maxwell, chair of Unique Venues of London said: “This evening was not only a celebration of our membership and their work, but also acknowledges the loyalty of our corporate and agency clients. We designed this event to break away from the norm, an evening of unique, stand-alone content which added value and challenged attitudes.

We represent the commercial arm of some of the Britain and the world’s best loved cultural institutions, and as such it is our aim and ambition to reflect our parent companies’ pioneering spirits and become thought leaders within the meetings and events sector. The turnout surpassed expectations and the positive feedback has prompted us to consider hosting a second Unique Insight London later in the year. It now leaves me to thank our amazing speakers, suppliers, and our hosts, the Museum of London, for an exceptional evening.”
