Inntel has collaborated with Trainline to introduce a mobile ticketing service for its customers who travel by rail.

The new M-ticketing service, thought to be one of the first introduced by a travel management company, negates the need for a paper boarding pass. Instead, it sends an e-ticket straight to the delegate's smartphone.

The Colchester-based agency says travellers can book via Inntel before downloading a barcode via the Trainline mobile app, which can be scanned or inspected by train staff.

"The process is very straightforward," said Jane Dibble, director of business development at Inntel.

"It’s a big step forward for the rail industry for the corporate market. It was launched over the summer for leisure travellers and now Inntel is very excited to work with Trainline to bring this to its corporate clients. We are continually looking to save our customers time and money and this will do exactly that."
