Liverpool Convention Bureau has appointed Jennifer Jensen as interim convention bureau manager, covering Kate Currie's maternity leave.

Jensen brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously held sales and marketing positions at ACC Liverpool and Visit London.

In her new role, Jensen will be tasked with continuing the city’s growth and development as a leading conference and event destination, starting with an extremely busy period which sees the Labour Party conference and European Association for International Education arrive in September.

Jensen said: “2016 has been a busy year already with events such as the International Festival for Business and ISPNO bringing thousands of international delegates to the city.

“As well as an excellent range of venues across the city region, Liverpool has a diverse downtime offering. All of these factors mean it is perfectly poised to further grow, and it’s a challenge I’m relishing.”

While at ACC Liverpool, in her role as corporate and agency sales manager Jensen successfully built relationships with agencies to secure large events from major corporate brands in automotive and pharmaceutical sectors.

At Visit London, Jensen promoted London to the European market as a destination for conferences, events and incentives through sales missions, marketing activity and by representing the city at international and UK trade shows.
