London City Selection (LCS) has seen a 15 per cent increase in membership growth in 2016 compared to last year, while booking enquiries at member venues hit £1.8 million during the same period.

The growth is the result of initiatives that LCS has developed throughout the year to increase interest from prospective venues. These include increasing member engagement through a variety of knowledge sharing sessions, strengthening and developing existing activities with the addition of the Big City Site Visit and driving enquiry growth through new marketing initiatives, particularly digital.

New members include Guildhall, The Steel Yard, Gibson Hall, Thistle City Barbican, The Mermaid and 47-58 Bastwick Street – The Institute of Structural Engineers.

Oliver Hargreaves, chair of LCS, said: “We have had a strong year at London City Selection, having seen a 15 per cent increase in membership and high levels of booking enquiries through our relaunched website, which has demonstrated real value to members.

“It has been great to welcome so many prestigious venues to the collective and strengthen our offering with a selection of modern and Grade II listed buildings in the heart of the city.”

London City Selection is the only venue collective to require the Meetings Industry Association (mia) AIM Accreditation as a membership criteria for venues.
