M&IT Agency Challenge finishes on a high

Two days of challenges, networking and presentations come to a jubilant end on Friday evening at The Lensbury

Two days of friendly competition, presentations and one-on-one meetings finished on a high note, as about 80 event professionals saw out the 2016 M&IT Agency Challenge.

A cocktail cruise reception along the River Thames was followed by a three-course dinner at host venue The Lensbury, where afterwards guests hit the dancefloor to some Latin music. Participants were also entertained by the final edits from the video challenge.

The evening culminated with the crowning of the red team as the challenge winners, taking the honours with 81 points, closely followed by the pink team who were just one point behind. The red team were awarded £800 in John Lewis vouchers, while all agency participants walked home with either a Kindle or a dinner for two at a Michelin-starred restaurant.

Participant Alistair Barton, project coordinator from MD Group, said: "It’s so rare to be offered a chance to participate in team building challenges with suppliers, which is a shame as it’s so useful in order to form working relationships. The M&IT Agency Challenge was by far one of the best industry events, a great mix of fun activities and useful activities."

Donna Hodges, of Inception Events, added: "It was a great networking event with the opportunity to mix with suppliers and other agencies in a fun and constructive environment."

Suppliers and buyers were split into six teams to undertake three sets of challenges on Thursday and Friday: kayaking, Earth ball challenge and producing and starring in their own videos. The challenges were interspersed with interactive supplier presentations and on Friday afternoon, one-on-one meetings.
