Professor Brian Cox heads up a stellar list of speakers booked for the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) in Manchester in July.

The conference is expected to bring more than 4,000 delegates to Manchester for a week of high level discussion around current and future breakthroughs in contemporary science.

Professor Cox, best-known for his BBC TV scientific documentaries, is among a 600-strong speaker line up which also includes GlaxoSmithKline CEO Sir Andrew Witty.

ESOF 2016 champion and president and vice chancellor of the University of Manchester, Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell said: “Manchester has always considered itself a city where great minds meet and for those four days in July - and hopefully the many months and years that follow - this will certainly be the case."

ESOF, being held in the UK for the first time, is expected to generate around £8 million for the local economy.
