Manchester Central has welcomed more than 20,000 delegates to almost 30 medical-related events in a “standout” year for the venue.

National associations that have chosen to host their events at the venue include the British Dental Association and the British Cardiovascular Society – both of which will return next year.

Other medical events that Manchester Central has hosted in 2015 include; Health and Care Innovation Expo, International Surgical Week and the Microscience Microscopy Congress 2015.

Angie Robinson, CEO at Manchester Central, said: “The city is known for its strengths in research, science and technology and this, combined with the world class facilities on offer at our venue, is a huge draw for medical professionals looking to host leading events.

“2015 has been a standout year for Manchester Central; we’ve hosted a huge range of events and look forward to welcoming even more medically-focused events next year alongside a whole host of national and international conferences and exhibitions; with a number of special events thrown in for good measure.”

Developing Excellence in Medical Education (DEMEC) took place at the venue last week and welcomed more than 700 delegates. This was Manchester Central’s final medically-focused event of the year; however the venue is looking forward to welcoming even more of these events in 2016; including the British HIV Association and the NHS Confederation Annual Conference and Exhibition among others.

Professor Bill Reid, a member of the DEMEC organising committee, said: “The attention to detail and friendliness from Manchester Central was outstanding – the venue was ideal for our purposes and provided the right facility for our conference. We would highly recommend this venue to others.”
