Marriott International is bringing together 14 of its major conference hotels to launch a European Convention Network (ECN), to streamline the process for meeting planners.

The ECN will have one dedicated contact to target large meetings and events, offering a combined 57,000 sqm of meeting space and 7,800 hotel rooms.

All hotels selected have at least 350 rooms, and include Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel (London), AC Hotel Bella Sky Copenhagen, Frankfurt Marriott Hotel and Paris Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel and Conference Centre. The ECN has been modelled on the US version, Marriott International Convention and Resort Network, which has been running for 25 years.

Pauline Bronkhorst, head of ECN, said: “Our customers have told us they want to save time when planning large annual or biennial events in different cities by having one account manager that works with them regularly and understands their business. They do not want to contact individual hotels and explain working practices but have one point of contact that values their business, knows who they are and how they source and contract their event."
