Meet & Potato takes on senior hires to support growth

Senior hires, new website and new marketing strategy at Liverpool agency

Liverpool agency Meet & Potato has marked its fifth birthday with a new website and two new senior hires.

Emma Thompson has joined the agency as client services director, while Karen Todd has been appointed content and communications director. 

Founder and MD Jon Kelly has reflected on the company’s rapid rise, while looking forward to growth and innovation over the next five years.

Kelly said: “A great company to work for creates a great agency to work with. And it’s been working fantastically well now for five years.

“I was determined to establish a business where people enjoyed their jobs, and their satisfaction created an equally rewarding experience for clients. We’re now an established agency and we’re incredibly successful. I honestly believe I have the best team in the industry; we’re small, but incredibly talented and hard-working. Making two key senior appointments sets us up to achieve even more.” 

Kelly has hailed Thompson as “the ultimate event professional”, while Todd has been made an official member of the team after working closely with the business for the last four years.

Kelly said: “Karen has 20 years' experience in corporate communication and has a simple goal – to enable our agency, and our clients, to be the best we can be when getting important messages across to an audience. 

“Emma is the ultimate event professional, and the lynchpin that holds everything together. She makes sure the team and our clients are working in harmony, it’s a role that ensures the successful implementation of our philosophy.”

Meet & Potato saw business more than double in each of its first three years, with the agency still experiencing double digit growth. The team has a client list that includes Holland & Barrett, Dunelm, John West, Baxi and BT. 

Kelly added: “The next five years and beyond are going to be amazing. There’s always so much going on in the event industry and we love being at the forefront of innovation – ways to create more interactive communication, new technologies to enhance the event space or the delegate experience. I can’t wait.”
