Meeting and travel forecasts to headline at MPI event

MPI Economic Insights with Cvent to bring together economists and industry leaders for education session

Markit economist Paul Smith will be among the presenters at the MPI Economic Insights with Cvent

New markets and travel forecasts will be among the topics presented at the MPI Economic Insights with Cvent in January.

Leading economist Paul Smith, from Markit, will speak about marketing budget and spend forecasts while David Goodger, from Oxford Economics, will examine travel trends and new markets at the education session.

MPI marketing manager for Europe Judy Elvey said: "This half day event offers event planners and suppliers an opportunity to hear from expert speakers, discuss what is next in the economic climate, and provides a chance for guests to benchmark their own businesses.”

The event will take place at 30 Euston Square on 18 January.

Other speakers include Virgin Atlantic's Rebecca Duncan, who will also speak about sustainability and travel trends within the meetings and incentive market, and representatives from agencies and suppliers such as Trinity Event Solutions, Ashfield Meetings and Events and Event Tech Lab.

There will also be tech-focused networking breaks to provide a chance for guests to test out some of the latest and emerging technologies for the sector.

Richard Parker, healthcare director at American Express M&E and President of MPI UK&I said: “We hear from our members that 2015 has been a buoyant year, and we saw renewed confidence in our sector. But expectations of the years ahead remain cautious.

"This event shares invaluable insights from experts regarding economic expectations, allowing attendees to be better prepared for 2016 and the years that follow.”
