Two major new initiatives to boost events business in Malaysia have been announced today. The Association Development Programme and the International Events Unit were revealed at trade show IMEX in Frankfurt by Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau [MyCEB}.

The International Events Unit is aimed to attract more international sports, cultural and lifestyle event and has been allocated a budget of 11.1 million Malaysian Ringgit. The Association Development Programme is designed to assist bids by local associations for international association congresses.

The two initiatives follow close behind the highly successful 25 million Ringgit congress subvention programme which has already subsidised 16 international meetings with more than 500 delegates.
