In-house planners from more than 60 leading brands have already signed up for the second International Corporate Events (ICE) Awards.

Organisers say the entries already match the quality of the inaugural 2015 awards, which recognised global brands such as BNP Paribas, Colgate-Palmolive, Euromoney and Twitter among the winners.

Exclusively honouring internal corporate event teams and departments, the ICE Awards is organised in association with the Event Marketing Association (EMA).

ICE Awards producer Anita Howard said: “We are so excited to see the high calibre of last year’s entrants is being matched for 2016. Equally impressive is the volume of enquiries we’ve already received in what is still the early stage of the entry period. The number of in-house teams that have approached us proves unequivocally that corporate planners are hungry for the credit they so obviously deserve for their work.”

The ICE Awards is being sponsored by event supplier companies including The Barbican, London & Partners and the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC).

Richard Waddington, EMA chair, said: “Our members’ teams function quite independently from the other departments within their organisations – which may be within the financial services, telecomms, automotive - or any other sector. We’re delighted to be associated with the ICE Awards and see this as an opportunity for EMA members to be understood as well as recognised within their organisations for the work they do.”

The ICE Awards recognises event teams in nine categories, including Best Sponsorship Activation Event, Best Use of Technology and Best Leadership Event. In addition, individual performance is also honoured in a single category, the Rising Star Award. Entry to the awards, taking place at the V&A on Wednesday 14 July, is free.
