Event management education guru Jackie Mulligan says her role within Meeting Professionals International (MPI) will not be affected by her decision to leave the UK Centre for Events Management.

Mulligan, who serves as the VP Education for the UK & Ireland Chapter of MPI, is to leave her role as director of enterprise and principal lecturer at the centre, based at Leeds Beckett University next month. She will be pursuing new business ventures, she says, such as event consultancy, running events for videogames network Game Republic and launching a new digital platform to support local regeneration across the UK.

She will continue to volunteer in her MPI role. Mulligan added: “Most if not all the VPs education have been industry people (rather than academics) prior to me joining the (MPI UK&I) board. The VP education role is running the events programme and ensuring the members get great content and networking. That won't change. I have a passion for education which will continue even though I am now not at Leeds Beckett.”
