Conference Cambridge has rebranded to become Meet Cambridge, while extending its services beyond its University of Cambridge venues.

The free venue finding service for the university has partnered with Visit Cambridge and Beyond and opened its portfolio of venues to include non-academic venues across the region. It was originally set up in 1998 to market the University of Cambridge conferencing facilities.

It is hoped the newly-branded Meet Cambridge  will increase the number of enquiries; in the year to date, it has received 4,230 enquiries and expects to place £6 million in business.

Kelly Vickers, director of Meet Cambridge, said: "The rebrand was essential to reflect more accurately what we do, including our new partnership with Visit Cambridge and Beyond. We are excited at the opportunities this will bring, including adding new venues to our portfolio and would like to thank all our stakeholders for their enthusiasm and support as we enter this important new chapter in our organisation."

Meet Cambridge was launched at a ceremony at St John's College last week, which was attended by about 100 people including Mayor of Cambridge Councillor Jeremy Benstead.
