EventWell Limited has launched as the new social enterprise and educational resource for event professionals, following on from the inaugural wellbeing campaign and official UK Event Wellbeing Week for the events industry EventWell17.

Held in September 2017, EventWell17 identified a need for an official wellbeing resource to provide information and support for event organisations and individuals.

An EventWell board of eight event professionals with more than 150 years of industry experience includes; Helen Moon as MD, Laura Capell-Abra as director of engagement, James Hitchin as director of events and Samme Allen as director of media and communications. Alistair Turner from 8PR, Mark Maher from Boulevard Events, Steve Squires from Convergence Live and Laila Datoo from Event Fuel also join the team.

The first year of operation is to be set out in two business phases;

Phase 1: A period of planning, creating awareness and establishing key partnerships and relationships in the industry, conducting research and analysis, and the collation of data and expert white papers and well as the development of an online educational resource

Phase 2: The first operational phase of the business with the kick off of the offline educational resource and the second Event Wellbeing Week ‘#EventWell18’ on 17-21 September 2018.

Moon said: “It’s vital that our operational year is split into these two phases to allow for a development period of research and analysis. From campaign week we identified that there was an unprecedented need for a support resource for the industry, what we need to establish now is how that resource will be delivered to organisations and individuals and we can only do that by speaking, engaging and listening to the professionals within our industry.”

The EventWell Ltd vision is to make tangible positive change to the event industry’s relationship with wellbeing, via their values of empathy, culture and self-care not just for organisations and individuals, but the industry as a whole.

Members of the EventWell board will also be addressing the audience at Day 1 of International Confex as part of the show’s keynote programme, while more keynote sessions are being planned throughout the year.

Also, will host a selection of wellbeing resources and information on living well, working well, eating well, exercising well, sleeping well and mental health as well as how to how to stay well online.

There is also more information on Stress Matters; a comprehensive programme backed and supported by EventWell and run by Director of Engagement Laura Capell-Abra, guiding organisations and employers on how they can take action to reduce the stress that are knowingly or unknowingly putting the teams under.

A help page has also been put in place to provide information on organisations offering professional guidance and support in times of distress or need in relation to mental health, bullying and harassment or employment advice. There is also a confidential email that event professionals can contact to be pointed in the right direction.
