Nottingham event company CEO appointed to ILEA board

Mary Baird-Wilcock, CEO of Nottingham-based The Simplifiers, is named on the association's board of governors

The CEO of Nottingham-based event management company The Simplifiers has been appointed to the international board of governors of the International Live Events Association (ILEA).

Mary Baird-Wilcock is the sole European representative on the board for 2016-17, with other members drawn from the US, Canada and Australia.

Judy Brillhart, catering director at the Sheraton Commander Hotel in Massachusetts succeeds Jodi Cullen as president, while Ingrid Navy CEO of Denver-based catering by design will serve as president-elect.

One of seven governors elected by ILEA – formerly the International Special Events Society – Baird-Wilcock founded The Simplifiers in 2003 and the company specialises in mentoring, event planning and project management and public speaking. She is one of three people in the UK to hold the Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) qualification. 

The UK chapter is headed up this year by Alistair Turner, MD of EIGHT PR and Marketing.
