Planet Pursuits is shifting its client focus from event management to travel management services.

The agency, based in Wiltshire, says it has noted a switch in revenues, with travel and hotel services now comprising around 75 per cent of turnover – compared to just a quarter three years ago.

And a partnership with travel agent group Advantage Travel is set to enhance the company’s travel management function as it seeks to compete with larger travel management companies.

Director Louise Boyse stressed Planet Pursuits would continue to offer meetings and events, and that £4 million worth of new business in the last 18 months has included client wins from UK Bodytalks, Emergen and Hochtief, specifically due to the increased travel management focus.

Boyse said: “By undertaking this partnership the agency can offer the same personable service while fulfilling all their client’s travel, events and activities needs. The company had its roots in events and team building when it started 15 years ago on the family farm. “We’ve come a long way in the last five years and while we simplify the complex process of travel and events, we still are still very firmly rooted with family values as an agency.”

The agency has also taken on more staff, Joss Wood as account manager, Jess Cavey as support account manager and office apprentice Emily Fisher.
