Portman strengthens senior team in growth bid

New appointments will set company on course for 'next phase of growth' says CEO after profit falls to £426k

Travel management company Portman has strengthened its senior management team with a series of key appointments.

The new additions are set to position the Surrey-based company for ‘the next phase of growth’.

Will Moorhouse has been appointed sales director and joins Portman from Expedia-owned corporate travel company Egencia where he was UK sales manager. He will oversee the sales teams and drive Portman’s presence in domestic and global markets.

In addition, Iain Arthur has been promoted to director of customer management and will report to John Dick, who has been promoted to chief customer officer.

Also, Adrian Parkes has moved into the newly created position of commercial director, with responsibility for various departments including marketing, product development, sales support and supplier relations.

Last year, Portman posted pre-tax profits of £426k for the year ended 31 December 2014, a fall from 2013 figures of £2.2 million after what directors described as a ‘challenging’ year.

Steve Allen, Portman CEO said: “These New Year appointments will strengthen the Portman commercial team and bring an absolute focus on our customers and partners. With the addition of Will and several new sales managers we are strongly positioned for our next phase of growth. The appointment of John Dick into his new role will ensure that our focus on service delivery excellence is maintained at every customer touch point across our wide range of clients from multiple sectors, both internationally and domestically.”
