Primary created a bespoke registration system and event app when it delivered a milestone conference for a not-for-profit network.

The Leicestershire agency was the first external agency to manage the biennial conference for Minority Supplier Development UK (MSDUK), while the organisation marked it's 10 year anniversary this year.

MSDUK's conference, the largest event of its kind in the UK, was previously organised by in-house team and Primary had to manage 42 speakers, 14 plenary sessions, 12 break-out sessions across the three days.

The agency also had to ensure all theming and branding reflected the anniversary milestone, while it was challenged with making the conference "bigger and better" than previous years.

Primary senior project manager Becky Dempsey said: "Working on such an established event is a difficult task as it is held in high regard by all of the MSDUK network. At Primary we always look to develop and grow, and being able to do this with the MSDUK 2016 Conference and help them celebrate 10 years of supporting ethnic minority owned businesses is a great achievement."

The conference, which took place 20-23 September, attracted more than 500 delegates from Australia, South Africa, Canada and the United States.

Primary organised five events across three venues; Grange City Hotel, Grange Tower Bridge Hotel and at the British Clipper Ship in Greenwich (Cutty Sark). An international day provided an opportunity for delegates to make connections, while the knowledge forum on day two involved a series of Ted style talks, workshops and panel sessions. A business opportunity fair on day three involved more than 40 exhibitors before the event finished with a glittering black tie MSDUK business awards dinner.

Primary also hosted a reception evening at Cutty Sark to mark MSDUK's 10th anniversary dinner, which honoured all those who contributed to the organisation over the years including past employees, members and partner companies.

Primary managing director Dan Stevens said: "It’s not often that you get to work with such a passionate and dedicated client team. Aligning our internal team with that of MSDUK allowed Primary to gain valuable insight into their company culture, values and objectives which then reflected in a creative event solution that exceeded expectations."
