Profits leap 90 per cent at Conference Care after 'high-value' events

Coventry-based agency's pre-tax profits hit almost £1m

New customer wins and high value projects from existing clients have helped Conference Care's pre-tax profits increase 88 per cent in 2014-15.

The Coventry-based agency reported pre-tax profits of £970k, up from £514k while turnover increased 40 per cent, from £2.04 million to £2.87m.

Director Chris Peacock says the strong performance was an ideal way to celebrate the agency's 20th anniversary this year and was attributed to healthcare and finance sector client wins, in addition to a series of high-value events for existing clients, but he added the growth was unlikely to be repeated in 2015-16.

"We ride off the back of how people feel about the economy and their own business and it's certainly not going to be a big pointy arrow that everyone was hoping for," he said.

"But generally speaking, it is still strong."

Strong financial results from the previous financial year saw Peacock reward staff with pay rises of 5 per cent in May.

He added: "It's a people industry that we're in and our results are directly attributed to doing the right job for our clients. Absolutely we want to share that with our guys, and we did that across the board."

Conference Care increased staff numbers this year, appointing four new staff members and welcoming back a fifth, to bring its headcount past 50.
