30/11/2016

The Association of Association Executives (AAE) has revealed the programme for the Associations World Congress to be held on 2-4 May 2017 at the Austria Center in Vienna.

Speakers include Andreas Felser, executive director of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine; Simon Shelley, head of Industry News at ITN; and Konrad Friedrich, head of conference management and marketing at the European Society of Radiology.

AAE executive director Damian Hutt said: “We have another packed programme for our Associations Congress which we are really excited to be bringing to Vienna.”

Alongside the key speakers, the programme of streams and sessions is designed to offer great education, networking and information for the 300 plus association delegates forecast to attend.

The International and European Association Awards ceremony will be held alongside the congress on the evening of 3 May at the Hofburg Vienna, recognising excellence in leadership, development and service across European and international membership organisations. The awards are free to enter and free for shortlisted associations to attend and are supported by the Institute of Association Management.

The programme for the event includes:

Association success story sessions – 20 associations shortlisted for the Association Awards will share and discuss their case study projects the afternoon before the awards, on 3 May. With edited and published case studies. Each delegate can attend two stories.

Video and TV Channel Stream – Video is a fast-growing communication method and a critical way to provide regular sector information to members. Each month associations are launching video channels/offerings (unrelated to event recordings) and this stream helps guide them on creation, planning and how to fund them. Hear from ITN, Eye Film and a selection of associations on their successes.

Member Engagement – A whole day of digital related content looking at member engagement strategies, successful online communities and tribal marketing.

Conference and Events – Neuroscience and neuromarketing will be an extraordinary topic in this stream from the Neuromarketing Science and Business Association.

Leading your Sector - Presentations on thought leadership from PwC and professional development and e-learning from professional bodies.
