Rapiergroup, the parent company of healthcare specialist agency Hampton Medical Conferences, has reported a 29 per cent increase in pre-tax profit.

The Ware and Towcester-based company, which also specialises in exhibitions, says turnover has surged by 10 per cent to £16 million, while profit hit £1.27m thanks to business growth, with particular emphasis on growth in the company’s Sibos contract. Rapiergroup has delivered exhibition management services at the annual banking and financial conference since winning the contract in 2013. This year’s Sibos, held by the Society of Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (Swift) will be held in Geneva in September.

Investment in staff has also been a driver of performance, said MD Helen Seaman; Rapiergroup earned Investors in People Silver accreditation and recruited Alexa Boddey and Danielle Howard as project manager and project executive respectively. Creative director Chris Litchfield has also been promoted to the company’s board, and further recruitment is expected.

Seaman added: “I am delighted with the exceptional results achieved this year which is testament to the hard work from all of our team. Combined with achieving silver accreditation for Investors in People we have demonstrated that by focusing and developing our people, we can achieve great results.”
