Rates fall in Dubai as demand remains strong

Latest MENA hotel chain review reveals year on year rates have fallen across the region

Dubai, where average room rates fell 8 per cent to £225 in October, according to Hotstats

Average room rates have continued to fall in Dubai, despite continued strong demand, according to the latest Middle East and North Africa chain hotels report from Hotstats.

An 8 per cent decline in rates (to £225) in the Emirate in October has seen the cost of a hotel room fall by seven points while occupancy has held up consistently at around 80 per cent.

Rates are down across the board in the region in comparison to October 2014, says the report. In Amman, the capital of Jordan, rates are down 5 per cent (to £110), despite a 10 point uplift in occupancy. The Qatari capital of Doha has seen average rates tumble 14 per cent to £170, while Manama in Bahrain has registered declines in rates (£155).
