Risk management takes centre stage at showcase

Terra Firma Risk Management will share crisis experience with event buyers at London seminars in August

How confident are you of crisis management procedures in the event of a natural disaster?

Do you know what to do when terrorists attack your event destination? Or when a natural disaster threatens the safety of your delegates?

These will be two of the topics covered when risk management experts speak to the industry at a London seminar in August.

Destination marketing specialist Moulden Marketing has teamed up with Terra Firma Risk Management to stage two seminars at the Montcalm London Marble Arch Hotel on 25 August.

With a combined 200 years’ experience of more than 650 critical incidents the experts at Terra Firma are well-versed in dealing with crisis situations.

Event buyers from all sectors are invited to attend the seminars at 9.30am and 4.30pm, which run alongside a Moulden destination showcase of hotels, destination management companies and convention bureaux.

MD Gillian Moulden said: “Any industry that revolves around travel should be aware of the current threats that we face. As recently as 2015 we saw the earthquakes in Nepal and during the Paris attacks we were aware of agencies that had groups in the city at the time. 

“Our question is whether agencies and their staff are fully engaged with the process of crisis management and whether they are fully prepared should the worst happen. Terra Firma’s personnel have a wealth of global experience of prevention and preparedness support, including security training and crisis simulation exercises. It will be fantastic to have their expertise, knowledge and insight into such a prominent topic for buyers and suppliers alike.”
