The Scotland chapter of the Event Marketing Association (EMA), the membership group exclusively for in house event planners, will launch next week.

A kick-off presentation and discussion on 5 February will bring together 12 senior level existing and prospective EMA members at Glasgow’s Scottish Exhibition & Conference Centre (SECC), where future expansion plans and the value of the Scotland group will be discussed.

Chair Richard Waddington said: “Two years ago we set out a strategy to create value for our membership of EMA which included monthly, content-led events, education program, a voice and representation for corporate planners into the industry, to be sustainable and then to expand.

“Thanks to member engagement and our industry partners such as the SECC we’ve achieved everything we set out to do. This year is about continued growth of our core membership and the launch of new chapters around the UK – our ambition is to create a network for corporate planners across the country where they can meet and share ideas, address challenges with their piers both face to face and virtually, in a secure, confidential environment.”

Kathleen Warden, director of conference sales at the SECC added that the chapter is an opportunity to bring together the Scottish corporate planner community. “The SECC is thrilled to be partnering with EMA and support the launch of EMA Scotland,” she said. “This demonstrates the SECC's strength in strategic partnerships.”
