Matt Thomas has been appointed managing director at catering and event management company Searcys.

Thomas replaces Chris Maddison, who joined Searcys in 2010 as sales and marketing director before moving into the role of MD in April 2014. During his tenure as MD Maddison led the integration of Searcys with Westbury Street Holdings in a £20 million deal in 2014.

Alastair Storey, CEO of the WSH Group, said: “I would personally like to thank Chris for his leadership over the last two years. Searcys is a remarkable brand with an exciting future. In Matt we have appointed an individual who will continue its growth and look to deliver excellence for its guests and partners.”

In the last three months Searcys has extended agreements with a number of its long term partners including Allen & Overy, Vintners’ Hall, 10-11 Carlton House Terrace and the Royal College of General Practitioners.

Matt Thomas joins Searcys having held a number of positions within WSH.

He said: “This brand remains both timeless and elegant. I am excited by the future of Searcys and we will remain fully focused on delivering wonderful food and great service in iconic surroundings.

“We will also stay true to the values with which have long been held important, in turn caring for our teams and guests. It is these things and more that will allow us to realise our full potential in the years ahead.”

Searcys has a portfolio of 29 restaurants, bars, visitor attractions and events venues.
