Seasoned Events partners with Oakley to host Olympians

10/08/2012

Seasoned Events, part of the Crown Group, has partnered with Oakley to host Olympic athletes at a ‘safehouse’ in London’s Design Museum.

The Oakley Safehouse is open until this Sunday and the venue has been transformed for Olympic athletes, their families and guests to relax during the games, with hospitality provided by Seasoned Events.

As part of the partnership, Seasoned Events has designed a 17-day culinary offer using local and seasonal ingredients, featuring a breakfast bar, espresso bar, patisserie, smoothie bar, Italian kitchen, la gelatiera and an al fresco barbecue overlooking Tower Bridge.

The Safehouse took two and a half years of planning and features a custom-built eyewear bar stocking more than 67,000 components for athletes to design their own tailor-made sunglasses, an Apple iMac station, two 6sqm TV panels and two red London phone boxes for athletes to autograph.

During the Games, more than 700 athletes from 30 different countries are expected to visit the venue.

Colin Sayers, managing director, Seasoned Events, said: “We are extremely proud and excited to have partnered Oakley for this ambitious and well executed project. Our whole team are feeling the Olympic buzz as the athletes, coaches and the lucky few relax in this modern and vibrant space and enjoy our food and drink. It’s an amazing partnership to add to our flourishing portfolio.”

Cuan Petersen, director of performance sports marketing at Oakley, said: “Partnering with Seasoned Events has allowed us to create an atmosphere where these world-class athletes feel as though they are in their own kitchen enjoying a home cooked meal.”

Seasoned Events is also a preferred caterer at The Design Museum for events throughout the year.
