Peyton Events, the event catering arm of Peyton and Byrne, has been saved from administration by Sodexo Limited, who has announced it is acquiring the business.

The acquisition will see Sodexo take on Peyton's contracts at landmark London locations such as The National Gallery, Saatchi Gallery and the Imperial War Museum London.

It comes amid reports parent company Peyton and Byrne, founded by restaurateurs Oliver and Siobhan Peyton, has gone into administration after losing high-profile contracts with the British Library and Kew Gardens. The last accounts filed in Companies House showed the company made a loss of -£1.2 million in 2015 and -£2.5m in 2014.

Tom Crocker, director of sales and marketing at Peyton Events, said: "This marks an extremely exciting chapter for Peyton Events. We will continue to deliver fabulous events at the high standards our clients have come to expect, and look forward to expanding further, taking our business to the next level."

No redundancies are expected for Peyton Events' 440 staff and Oliver Peyton, a judge on BBC's Great British Menu, will continue leading the contracts with wife Siobhan.

Other venues Peyton Events provides catering to include The Wallace Collection, The Institute of Contemporary Arts, The Royal Academy of Arts, Saatchi Gallery and Lancaster House.
