A "major" piece of research into how brands incorporate sustainability into live events will be revealed exclusively at this year’s Sustainable Events Summit (SES).

The research commissioned by SES has been undertaken by not-for-profit sustainability specialist Positive Impact, canvassing over 100 top brands to gain a unique insight into their understanding of event sustainability. It will be unveiled exclusively to summit delegates on Monday 21 November, who will receive a copy of the full report and will also have the opportunity to discuss the findings with panelists and speakers taking part in the event.

As well as launching the research, summit organisers Smyle, Positive Impact, Sustainable Events Ltd and Rachel Ley Consultancy have created a programme that includes keynote addresses and interactive panel sessions. This will be followed by award-winning social entrepreneur Benita Matofska from The People Who Share, who will be giving a keynote address on the sharing economy.

Launching the Summit programme, Rick Stainton, MD of Smyle said: “We are very excited that this year’s Summit will see the launch of a major piece of industry research that will reveal our current understanding of the role of sustainability in live events. It will benchmark current perceptions, look at best practice and examine opportunities for our businesses within this framework.

“People attending the Summit will receive advance copies of the report and be able to join in the discussion of the research findings. We therefore encourage all event professionals to join us at the Summit to help us pave the way forward for greater event sustainability in the future.”
