TFI Group's creative and sales director Simon Maier has left the company to take up a joint managing director role at London agency Visual Response.

Maier assumes the role alongside joint MD Mark Waters, saying the move was an "exciting opportunity". He has been appointed to help grow the agency, and leaves TFI after four years.

Maier said: "TFI has been a fascinating experience. However, the time is absolutely right for me to move on and embrace this exciting opportunity of working with Mark and Visual Response.

"Visual Response has such a superb track record as an event services agency. It has been around for over 25 years and totally understands what clients want and need. While audience engagement is - and always has been - a critical element, clients in any sector also want experience and track record, cultural understanding, relevant communication thinking, proper focus, engagement technology, legacy ideas and, more than ever, first class account management and service. Visual Response offers all that and then some."

Maier added: "Mark has a first class reputation as does his team, and we share the same ideas and philosophy about the full service event agency offer. More than anything, the Visual Response people really enjoy what they do. They are all happy, extremely capable and have exactly the right levels of experience in every department and in each channel."

Mark Waters commented: "Clients want trust, sense, exemplary planning, powerful ideas and great delivery - and they want people to translate their needs into a memorable reality. Simon will help grow our ability to do that.

"He brings with him many years of experience in every aspect of event and strategic creativity, as well as understanding the depth and scope of client needs. He can also respond quickly to briefs and these days that's critical. His writing, proposal creativity, presentation technique and getting to the heart of the matter are legend and I'm delighted that he's agreed to join us exactly at a time when we're looking for growth."
