Top event planners honoured at Conference Awards

Brandfuel and i2i Events among the big winners at fifth annual awards in Battersea Evolution

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and technology research firm Gartner UK were among those honoured for their congresses at the annual Conference Awards.

More than 750 event professionals packed Battersea Evolution in London's Battersea Park on Friday, 13 June, to celebrate the best in the conference-organising business.

Among the big winners at the event, organised by the Global Conference Network and hosted by comedian Josh Widdicombe, were i2i Events and Brandfuel. London-based Brandfuel won the best managed event for Google's flagship event, Zeitgeist, while i2i Events took the top gong for best large-scale event or congress for the World Retail Congress.

Claire Wormsley, director of the Global Conference Network, said: “We’ve had a thriving year for the conference industry and we’re delighted to see the Conference Awards grow. These awards have become the definitive recognition of the dedication and innovation that drives excellence in our sector."

Also honoured at the afternoon ceremony were the winners of the Conference Venue and Supplier Awards.
