More than 200 event professionals were given a new take on history, at the Historic Royal Palaces showcase event.

The guests, including representatives from Banks Sadler, George P Johnson and Zibrant, enjoyed a mix of contemporary and traditional food and entertainment, reflecting the evening's theme Tradition Retold. Guests were also treated to a private viewing of the Crown Jewels during the event on Thursday night, held at the Tower of London.

Sam Glenister-Batey, commercial events manager at the Tower of London, said: “We were thrilled to welcome so many guests to the Historic Royal Palaces showcase event at the Tower of London. The idea behind the evening’s Tradition Retold theme was to highlight how the historic setting of the Tower of London can be combined with any contemporary theme to create a truly unforgettable event. Tradition with a twist is a key motto of the Historic Royal Palaces team and we hope the showcase event was a good indicator of this.”

Milan Thakrar, business development manager at Historic Royal Palaces, added: “The showcase event was the perfect way for us to demonstrate how important events are to the future of the palaces and how clients can play their part by hosting their events in one of our spectacular palaces.”

Historic Royal Palaces also operates Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland.
