Excellence in Action, the staff recognition awards programme currently involving 4,000 staff at Computacenter UK, will now be rolled out to 250 employees at the IT infrastructure services company’s South African operation, based on its success in the UK.
The programme has been created and implemented by Amersham-based AYMTM, the incentive and motivation agency which originally won the Computacenter contract following a three-way pitch.
Natalie Gunson, managing director of AYMTM, said: “It’s a first for us to have reached the South African market, which we are thrilled about. As a fast developing nation with many corporate structures taking example from UK companies, we hope to be able to specify more programmes geared to motivate and incentivise South African employees.”
Following the highly successful UK launch, which significantly exceeded its nomination targets and continues to do so, AYMTM was asked to create a suitable platform for the South African operation in a space of four weeks with the new site having launched earlier this month.
AYMTM’s communication platform, called ‘The Hub’, delivers a web-based recognition tool, which has the ability to deliver rewards to staff at all levels of achievement. The range of recognition applications include personalised ‘Moonpig’ style cards from colleagues to colleagues to a more formal thank-you from line managers including reward points added to their reward point accounts.
At the highest level of recognition are the Company Awards, where colleagues and managers can nominate individuals or teams that achieved the company’s goals.
The Excellence in Action site will also host the company’s long service awards, which will generate automatic reward points and certificates to staff on their employment anniversaries and alert line managers to deliver the reward.
