Women 'underrepresented' in senior industry roles

EventHuddle to discuss gender imbalance in talk “What’s holding women back in the events industry?” this week

Pictured: women make up 70 per cent of the UK events industry but are underrepresented in board roles, says EventHuddle CEO Kirk Thomas

Discussion forum EventHuddle will explore gender equality in the events industry at its next edition.

The discussion, titled “What’s holding women back in the events industry?” takes place this week in London.

EventHuddle CEO Kirk Thomas said: "The events industry is 70 per cent female, yet representation at board level is minimal and many within the industry feel women are not seeing the same promotional opportunities. What's holding women back? Is anything holding women back?

The event takes place on Thursday 14 July from 8.30-10.30am at 1 Wimpole Street, London and is free to attend for all event professionals.

The discussion will be chaired by Kevin Jackson (Experience Is The Marketing), and panelists include: Rachael Bartlett, sales and marketing director at Warwick Conferences; Joy Thomas, senior manager (group events) at Lloyds Banking; Carol Stewart, personal development, career and business coach at Abounding Solutions; and Melissa Noakes, experiential consultant, coach and mentor.

Anyone wishing to attend the event should register here.
