Bike tours launched in Bath

March 2018 will see the launch of Bath Bike Tours, the first of its kind to provide a programme of bicycle tours in the city and surrounding areas. Bath Bike Tours covers the river and canal, offering tourists a unique outdoors experience. Bath Bike Tours is the first tour company in the city to offer a programme dedicated purely to bicycle tours in the city.The company, which officially takes to the streets on 10th March will run a programme of different tours operating every day of the week except Tuesdays. The morning City Tour covers the major sights of the city including the Royal Crescent, Botanic Gardens, Holburne Museum, Canal, Abbey and Roman Baths. Expected to be particularly popular is the company's afternoon Countryside Tour, ideal for those wishing to explore Bath's beautiful surrounding countryside and a fascinating railway museum. Bath Bike Tours have included a 5 hour Full Day Tour which combines the City Tour and Countryside Tour in a gentle 10 mile ride.

£250k spa renovation for Fairmont St Andrews

The five-star Fairmont St Andrews has had a £250,000 refurbishment of the resort’s pool and hydrotherapy facilities. The investment will mean a new 16 metre pool hall, Jacuzzi, aromatherapy steam room, sauna and shower experiences .Due to re-open on Saturday 24th March 2018, the newly renovated facilities will add to the ten treatment rooms, relaxation lounges, fitness studio, recently upgraded gym featuring Life Fitness technology, and spinning bikes. Fairmont St Andrews recently celebrated the completion of a multi-million pound interior refurbishment in September 2017. The 18-month programme, saw a complete redesign of the hotel’s Atrium. The suites and bathrooms were also renovated as part of the wider investment throughout the resort

W Hotel opens in Panama

W Hotels Worldwide, part of Marriott International (NASDAQ: MAR), has announced the opening of W Panama, the first W in Central America. Located in Panama City, the new hotel towers above the heart of the business district within the ultra-modern, 50-floor Evolution Tower on Calle 50. With 203 guest rooms including 28 suites, many featuring sweeping views of the nearby bay and Canal, W Panama offers more than 1951 sqm of versatile meeting and event space across six meeting rooms, customizable for any occasion. The 'Great Room' is the ideal setting for grand events, displaying the stunning cityscape through floor-to-ceiling windows.

Hilton opens in Vail, Colorado

Hilton has introduced its first hotel in Vail, Colorado - DoubleTree by Hilton Vail. Following a complete renovation, the property features 116 modern guest rooms and convenient access to the slopes with its onsite ski rental and complimentary shuttle to Vail Village and Lionshead. The property has more than 258.46 sqm of meeting and banquet facilities through its three event spaces. The Terrace Ballroom features 179.8 sqm of event space, accommodating up to 200 guests. The spacious venue overlooks the patio and pool area, which can be booked as an adjoining option for an indoor/outdoor event experience. Meetings and events for smaller groups can be housed in either the Wildwood Conference Room, which provides 528 square feet of space, or the Executive Board Room, comprising 30.6 sqm.

Ye Olde Bell to offer relaxation packages

Ye Olde Bell, Barnby Moor is set to offer mini spa treatments for group corporate bookings as part of a new delegate relaxation package. It is also offering guests access to early morning personal training sessions. The hotel, located in the rural village of Barnby Moor, on the borders of Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, opened a new multi million pound spa last year. The spa now wants to ensure delegates attending the hotel for business meetings, conferences or events feel refreshed and relaxed and will be offering a 15 minute hand or shoulder massage to attendees. Ye Olde Bell offers a wide range of suites from traditional to contemporary all with flexible capacities from 2 to 250 for business meetings.

Abu Dhabi launches ‘Abu Dhabi Culture’ app

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has launched a comprehensive new app which will act as a ‘one-stop’ reference, allowing users to gain instant access to every possible aspect of cultural life and heritage in Abu Dhabi. The ‘Portal’ lays a marker by encompassing a website as the main hub for information, a mobile app for both iOS and Android devices, social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, as well as Podcasts on Soundcloud and iTunes that feature weekly broadcasts of cultural topics and discussions with experts. Abu Dhabi Culture looks to offer a gateway of information for visitors to Abu Dhabi, as well as the local communities and residents.

Apex introduce wellbeing ambassador

Family run hotel chain, Apex Hotels, has introduced a new brand ambassador who is helping to spearhead its new guest wellbeing campaign. Wellbeing expert, Celynn Morin, is working with the group to roll out its #WarmerWelcome – which launched at Apex City of Bath Hotel this week. Morin is also a registered dietician, keynote speaker and author. She has worked alongside the brand to introduce guidance for guests on how to get the best out of their stay at Apex – whether they want to relax, rejuvenate or focus. #WarmerWelcome, which will be rolled out across the portfolio’s remaining nine properties across the UK in the coming weeks, sees new in-room guide books detailing how to keep a healthy routine introduced.The guide also features Morin's top tips on getting a great-quality night’s sleep, including breathing exercises and mindfulness techniques.
