Regus opens business centre in Tehran

Regus Tehran has just opened on the top floor of the Sayeh Tower. The new business centre will help meet the growing demand for office space in Iran’s capital. “It is exciting to see Regus coming to Iran and its presence there is testament to Iran being a thriving hub for business. Both local and international businesses will be able to benefit from this high- quality and ultra-modern workspace, whether they are looking to expand an existing business or start up a new one,” said Dr Mohsen Talaie, senior board advisor to Edge Business Group, Regus’s local partner in Iran.

Aston Villa invests £1m on events space

Aston Villa FC (AVFC) will launch its new hospitality and premium events space, the Directors Club, next month in partnership with Lime Venue Portfolio. The new space is the result of a £1 million investment, which has also gone towards the redesign and refurbishment of a number of other spaces within the Trinity Stand. The Directors Club has a contemporary and luxurious new design, with sleek furniture and state of the art AV. In addition, the room has its own open kitchen, bringing the new food and drink offers to life for visitors. While the main space is capable of hosting up to 150 delegates, it also includes the Directors Boardroom for smaller meetings, private dining, or as a breakout space within The Directors Lounge.

Lausanne aquarium to offer events spaces

Lausanne’s events offering is to be further enhanced with the addition of the AQUATIS Aquarium-Vivarium set to open on the site of the BOAS owned Aquatis Hotel in the city next month. The aquarium is the largest freshwater aquarium in Europe. Once open, it will be available for corporate hire with a range of dedicated events spaces, with capacity for up to 300 for banqueting and 350 for receptions, providing a unique experience and setting. When both levels of the AQUATIS Aquarium-Vivarium are used, event capacity is doubled, while the outdoor terrace can accommodate up to 500 guests for receptions.

The Berkeley unveils redesigned ballroom

Following an extensive redesign at The Berkeley, which has seen the creation of a state of the art front entrance, a new Collins Room and Blue Bar and a variety of suites, the newly designed ballroom is the latest space within the hotel to be unveiled. Transformed by John Heah of Heah & Co, the new ballroom combines the height of technology with bespoke design. The ballroom is the ideal setting for conferences and business presentations and can accommodate up to 600 guests for a champagne reception and up to 250 for a sit down dinner dance.

New £35m Apex Bath Hotel opens

The latest addition to the Apex Hotels portfolio, in the city of Bath, has opened.The launch of the hotel takes the company’s portfolio to 10 hotels across the UK, and represents its first opening in England outside of London. With 177 bedrooms, the property is the city’s largest in terms of number of bedrooms, and is Bath’s only purpose-built city centre conference facility for up to 400 delegates. As well as representing a significant investment in Bath, and expansion for the Edinburgh-based business, the new venture has created 130 jobs in the local area.

DoubleTree Hilton opens in York

DoubleTree by Hilton has Joined the Historic City of York. Conveniently located opposite the city’s historic walls,the hotel joins Hilton York and Hampton by Hilton York– paving the way as the first DoubleTree hotel in the city. The hotel contains York’s newest purpose built meeting space with integrated audio visual equipment, wide screen projection and HDMI connectivity, capable of hosting up to 250 guests. There is also a courtyard garden for delegates to enjoy throughout the day.

Malmaison's former prison wing open for events

Malmaison Oxford has announced that the prison-turned-hotel’s ‘A Wing’ can now be exclusively hired for corporate and private events. Housed in one of the hotel’s former prison wings, 'A Wing' boasts a unique events space within the hotel, including the Atrium and 38 spacious double bedrooms, each converted from three adjoining former cells. With a capacity of 120, the space is perfect for corporate events. The surrounding bedrooms have been carefully converted – retaining the original vaulted ceilings, thick walls and stone cold iron doors.

Ritz-Carlton opens Langkawi resort

Set in a tranquil private bay, the Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi oceanfront resort has opened on the Malaysian island. The resort marks the company's first destination resort in Malaysia, and the second property in the country following The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur. The resort is surrounded by ancient jungle, while its beachfront is sheltered by trees and extends to the Andaman Sea. It has 70 guest rooms, 15 suites and 29 villas. Hervé Humler, president and chief operating officer of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, said: "With spectacular coastal views, lush rainforests and a blend of cultures, Langkawi offers stunning natural beauty with a fascinating story. The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi provides guests with the opportunity to experience the wonders of this unique island for themselves."
