Principal Hotel Company launches loyalty programme

Principal Hotel Company, a collection of 35 properties throughout the UK under the PRINCIPAL and De Vere brands, has announced it has launched its Trainers Club’ loyalty programme. The new look programme is the result of merging two loyalty programmes from the Principal Hayley and De Vere Venues brands. The free-to-join programme rewards members with a range of tailored perks.

ME by Meliá launches in Dubai

Luxury lifestyle hotel brand, ME by Meliá, has announced its debut property in the Middle East with the launch of ME Dubai at the end of 2018. Designed by late architect, Zaha Hadid, ME Dubai is set to become a legacy hotel. The hotel will take residence in the 95 metre-high, Opus building, which is the newest architectural icon in the Dubai skyline. Situated in the heart of the upcoming Burj Khalifa district in Downtown Dubai, The Opus building is managed by leading Middle East real estate developer, Omniyat. ME Dubai will consist of 93 rooms and suites, across 19 floors, the ‘Suite ME’, will have 98 serviced apartments.

RBH to manage new Manchester hotel

Redefine|BDL Hotels (RBH) is to manage the upcoming Hampton by Hilton Manchester Northern Quarter, set to open in 2020. The £17.5 million, 221-bedroom hotel in the city’s thriving Northern Quarter will also feature a restaurant, fitness centre and meeting space. The project is being funded by Hong Kong-based IP Investment Management in conjunction with asset manager Maven Capital Partners. Andrew Robb, RBH’s chief business development officer, said: “Hampton by Hilton Manchester Northern Quarter will be RBH’s third Hampton by Hilton property, and our fourth property in Manchester. We’re thrilled to add yet another hotel to our growing portfolio.”

Kensington Palace launches new event space

Historic Royal Palaces has announced a new events venue to be installed in the gardens of Kensington Palace. The Kensington Palace Pavilion, a glass fronted building overlooking the palace’s famous Sunken Garden, will replace the Orangery at Kensington Palace for three years as it closes for a major conservation and building project. Situated in the heart of the palace grounds, The Pavilion will feature two main event spaces, with capacity for 800 guests for a reception and 300 for a seated dinner. The venue will also benefit from a covered terrace area, while the area around the Sunken Garden can also be utilised alongside the terrace for larger events. The new venue will be available for hire from March 2018.

Regus opens fifth centre in Leeds

Regus has opened the doors to its fifth business centre in Leeds. The centre occupies 950 sqm on the 17th and 18th floors of Pinnacle and houses more than 150 workstations and flexible working options including co-working space, offices of varying sizes, Virtual Office services and meeting rooms. Pinnacle has a central location, close to shops, restaurants and bars and just six minutes’ walk from Leeds Central Station. Richard Morris, UK CEO of Regus, said: “We’re excited to be opening our latest Leeds workspace in response to strong demand for flexible workspace in the city. Sitting at the gateway between the city's business and retail districts, Pinnacle is the perfect, strategic location to base a business in Leeds.”

Hallmark Hotel opens football training ground

Hallmark Hotel, 'The Welcombe’ in Stratford-upon-Avon has opened an exclusive football training ground. The brand new full sized football pitch will add to the current leisure facilities. Located at the front of the hotel at the Golf Club entrance, the professional pitch has dugouts and flexible training facilities. The Welcombe Hotel hopes to attract visiting teams and referee coaching/training from the Football Association and Premiership as well as for sporting agent events, tournaments, team building and residential use. The pitch, which can be used for both football and rugby, costs from £150 a day to hire. The hotel is also keen to work with local clubs and schools to enable them to use the facility.The facilities at The Welcombe Hotel consist of 78 bedrooms, 7 apartments, a PGA 18 hole championship golf course & clubhouse, conference and banqueting facilities for up to 200 people, 11 event spaces, a luxury health club and spa with fully-equipped gym, exercise studio, 15 metre swimming pool, outside vitality pool, treatment rooms and tennis courts plus a Rosette awarded restaurant, 4 bars and a luxurious lounge.

Jumeirah Royal Saray to open in February

Jumeirah Group has announced a new hotel. Jumeirah Royal Saray, Bahrain will open in February 2018 marking Jumeirah Group’s entrance into the Bahrain hospitality market. The Jumeirah Royal Saray, which is located on the Bahrain shoreline in a beach front position, offers 167 guest rooms including two Royal Suites, as well as a variety of dining and recreational choices including a state of the art health club and spa.
