Pontoon, St Katharine Docks

Situated on the edge of Marble Quay in St Katharine Docks is Pontoon, a five-berth yacht which can be used for private hire and corporate parties. It will be open until the end of 2012 and features a natural wood terrace and lounge which can hold up to 70 guests for private parties and drinks receptions, as well as private dining space for up to 10. There are also three double suites and two twin rooms, sleeping up to 10 people.

One Wimpole Street

An investment project worth £350,000 has been completed at One Wimpole Street creating a new suite of seminar rooms. The venue already has lecture theatres and function rooms and has now extended its facilities adding a further three rooms. The Seminar Suite can function independently (capacity of 70 theatre-style) or as three individual rooms each accommodating up to 30 delegates. Full HD projection is the standard when set as one room. Each break out room is equipped with integrated HD plasma screens fitted in swing-arm mounts.

Happisburgh Manor

Amazing Retreats’ Happisburgh Manor has opened following an extensive refurbishment. Now available for exclusive hire for the first time, the Grade II Listed Arts and Crafts country house offers views over the coast of North East Norfolk. With its thatched roof - thought to be the largest in England - Happisburgh offers eight suites which will sleep up to 16 people, flexible meeting and event spaces, gym, sauna, games room and treatment room. The property also has its own garden, orchard and watchtower overlooking the sea. An outdoor swimming pool will also open at the end of May.

Crowne Plaza Chester

The Crowne Plaza Chester hotel has unveiled its newly refurbished events facility. The hotel’s ballroom, the King’s Suite has been subject to a full refurbishment, including a new colour scheme, carpets and the installation of a flat screen television to display event information. There are also newly marbled corridors; a dedicated bar area for events guests and feature artwork as well as updated toilet facilities. The Crowne Plaza has a number of air-conditioned suites which can be interconnected, making the hotel a choice for large conferences and exhibitions or small events. The King’s Suite can hold up to 600 people.

Arora Hotel Heathrow

The executive boardroom at the Arora Hotel Heathrow has now opened. Located on a private floor at the top of the hotel, the boardroom features a birds-eye view across the airport. It can accommodate up to 20 delegates boardroom-style, 22 u-shape, 25 classroom-style, 60 theatre-style and 50 guests for seated buffet or lunch. The event space also has a pre-function foyer, dedicated bathrooms, full blackout facility and private lift access. Breakout space is available on the ground floor of the hotel with four meeting rooms, each seating up to 40.

The Peak Edge Hotel

The 27-room Peak Edge Hotel has now opened its doors in the grounds of the Red Lion Bar and Bistro. The boutique property is situated at Stone Edge, right on the edge of the Peak District. All hotel rooms feature free Wi-Fi and flat screen televisions. There are three conference facilities at the Red Lion, which cater from 50-120 people theatre-style. The hotel overlooks a large lake and landscaped grounds, and it also has its own helipad.

B.Hive Business Clubs, Manchester and Bristol

B.Hive Business Clubs has opened two new business hubs in Manchester and Bristol. The new B.Hive hubs are located at the Regus business centres in King Street, Manchester and Temple Quay, Bristol. The openings follow the success of B.Hive London, launched last September by business icon Lynne Franks. B.Hive clubs are created specifically with women in mind and offer ‘Shabby Chic’ style lounges with comfy furniture, chandeliers, artwork by Natasha Zupan and murals from Charlotte Adler. B.Hive membership costs £25 plus VAT per month.

Hotel Indigo Glasgow, Glasgow

Hotel Indigo Glasgow has opened on Waterloo Street, in the heart of Glasgow’s financial district and close to Central Station. Facilities at the 95 bedroom boutique hotel include the Limelight Bar and Grill, a fitness suite and complimentary WiFi throughout. The historic building was originally Glasgow’s first power station and was used to illuminate the Glasgow School of Art, which is reflected in the hotel’s artwork. Hotel Indigo Glasgow is the third Indigo hotel in the UK. Further hotels in Liverpool, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Newcastle are scheduled to open in shortly.
