Bath Rugby Foundation partners with Apex

Bath Rugby Foundation and Apex Hotels have formed a partnership which will see hotel guests boost the charity for every night they stay in the city. The chain, which opened a new hotel in James Street West last year, has agreed to offer guests the chance to add £1 to their bill, which will then be donated to the Foundation. Bath Rugby Foundation is the charitable arm of Bath Rugby, set up to empower young people in Bath and surrounding areas to succeed. The Foundation uses the values of rugby to inspire young people to create a better future for themselves, focusing on improving health, education, employability and inclusion in the South West.The Apex City of Bath Hotel is the city’s largest in terms of the number of bedrooms. It is also Bath’s only purpose-built city centre conference facility for up to 400 delegates.

April opening for The Principal London

The Principal London will open on Monday 16 April 2018 after undergoing an £85 million refurbishment to restore the hotel to its former glory. The hotel was previously the Hotel Russell, a Grade II* listed building designed by Charles Fitzroy Doll, occupying the eastern flank of Russell Square in London’s literary heart, Bloomsbury.The hotel’s events spaces are well-equipped for both business and leisure. From the 450 capacity ballroom which has been lovingly restored and is set to become one of the most desirable private spaces in London, to the eight additional meeting and events spaces ranging in capacity from six to 90. At the heart of The Principal London is the Palm Court, a 'living room' for Londoners and hotel guests alike.

Hilton to return to Copenhagen in 2020

The refurbishment of a former bank building on the Copenhagen waterfront will see Hilton return to the Danish capital in 2020. The provisionally-named Hilton Copenhagen City is expected to become a new landmark on Copenhagen's harbour front and will feature 400 rooms, meeting and conference facilities, executive lounge, fitness center, parking facilities, a bar and two restaurants - one of which will be on the quayside. The conversion into Hilton Copenhagen City is expected to start as soon as a new district plan is available and the Hilton is expected to open its doors to an international and local audience in 2020.

Bike tours launched in Bath

March 2018 will see the launch of Bath Bike Tours, the first of its kind to provide a programme of bicycle tours in the city and surrounding areas. Bath Bike Tours covers the river and canal, offering tourists a unique outdoors experience. Bath Bike Tours is the first tour company in the city to offer a programme dedicated purely to bicycle tours in the city.The company, which officially takes to the streets on 10th March will run a programme of different tours operating every day of the week except Tuesdays. The morning City Tour covers the major sights of the city including the Royal Crescent, Botanic Gardens, Holburne Museum, Canal, Abbey and Roman Baths. Expected to be particularly popular is the company's afternoon Countryside Tour, ideal for those wishing to explore Bath's beautiful surrounding countryside and a fascinating railway museum. Bath Bike Tours have included a 5 hour Full Day Tour which combines the City Tour and Countryside Tour in a gentle 10 mile ride.

£250k spa renovation for Fairmont St Andrews

The five-star Fairmont St Andrews has had a £250,000 refurbishment of the resort’s pool and hydrotherapy facilities. The investment will mean a new 16 metre pool hall, Jacuzzi, aromatherapy steam room, sauna and shower experiences .Due to re-open on Saturday 24th March 2018, the newly renovated facilities will add to the ten treatment rooms, relaxation lounges, fitness studio, recently upgraded gym featuring Life Fitness technology, and spinning bikes. Fairmont St Andrews recently celebrated the completion of a multi-million pound interior refurbishment in September 2017. The 18-month programme, saw a complete redesign of the hotel’s Atrium. The suites and bathrooms were also renovated as part of the wider investment throughout the resort

W Hotel opens in Panama

W Hotels Worldwide, part of Marriott International (NASDAQ: MAR), has announced the opening of W Panama, the first W in Central America. Hilton opens in Vail, Colorado

Hilton has introduced its first hotel in Vail, Colorado - DoubleTree by Hilton Vail. Following a complete renovation, the property features 116 modern guest rooms and convenient access to the slopes with its onsite ski rental and complimentary shuttle to Vail Village and Lionshead. The property has more than 258.46 sqm of meeting and banquet facilities through its three event spaces. The Terrace Ballroom features 179.8 sqm of event space, accommodating up to 200 guests. The spacious venue overlooks the patio and pool area, which can be booked as an adjoining option for an indoor/outdoor event experience. Meetings and events for smaller groups can be housed in either the Wildwood Conference Room, which provides 528 square feet of space, or the Executive Board Room, comprising 30.6 sqm.
