Admiralty Arch hotel set to open in 2022

London landmark Admiralty Arch is set to be home to a Waldorf Astoria hotel by 2022. Admiralty Arch Waldorf Astoria will include 96 rooms, three restaurants, a rooftop bar, private meetings and event spaces and a spa. Luxury private residences and an exclusive private members club and other exclusive food and beverage components will join the hotel within Admiralty Arch, while an extensive refurbishment programme is set to restore the landmark's architectural and historical features. Admiralty Arch was commissioned by King Edward VII in memory of Queen Victoria and offers views down The Mall to Buckingham Palace. It was designed by Sir Aston Webb, who was also responsible for The Mall and main facade at Buckingham Palace.

Magnolia hotel opens in the Algarve

The Magnolia Hotel, a Miami Style Boutique Hotel, has opened in the Algarve. The hotel, which is near Quinto do Lago offers luxurious accommodation, beaches, golf and meetings spaces.The hotel has 74 guest rooms, each complete with a private veranda, 3 suites and 7 exclusive cottages. The wooden cottages contain bedrooms, a bathroom and a lounge, as well as kitchen and patio areas which can accommodate larger groups. For meetings and events spaces, the hotel has access to Quinta do Lago Hotel, allowing visitors to stay at The Magnolia Hotel and use the spaces, as well as all facilities/offerings at Quinta do Lago.

Bloomsbury Ballroom takes events in-house

The Bloomsbury Ballroom has ended its partnership with its previous external event management company and taken the management of all events in-house, with a new dedicated team, in-line with the brand’s planned growth and development. The Bloomsbury Ballroom will now cater for all events and occasions.The ballroom is able to accommodate up to 880 guests within the whole venue as well as many other spaces including The Rose Room, The Long Bar and the lounge.

Austria Center Vienna refurbs third floor

Austria Center Vienna is refurbishing the third floor of its main building to meet growing demand for custom event formats. As well as offering two new conference rooms for 170 and 140 people, and 35 modern offices, the work will focus on the centrepiece of around 600sqm of light-filled and individually usable outdoor spaces with views of the neighbouring Donaupark and United Nations headquarters. This project makes the Austria Center Vienna one of the first congress centres in Europe to create a separate networking level.

New events space at The Science Museum

The Science Museum in South Kensington has announced that its versatile Level 1 space will be available for corporate event hire from November 2017 until April 2018. The 750sqft blank canvas space can host a multitude of events including exhibitions, fashion shows, award ceremonies, product launches, large-scale conferences or seated dinners, all of which can be fully branded by the client. The versatile nature of the space makes it the ideal setting to host experiential events which look to break from the traditional event format and create an engaging experience for guests.Level 1 can accommodate 250 guests cabaret-style, 350 theatre-style and 400 for a reception.
Available for both day and evening hire, The Science Museum’s accredited AV, catering and entertainment suppliers will be on hand to transform the space and deliver an event aligned to a client’s specific requirements.
